RFQs at a glance: overview page and entry points

Learn what an RFQ is in Tacto, which phases it goes through and where you can start an RFQ.

What is an RFQ in Tacto?

An RFQ (Request for Quotation) is a structured request process for obtaining quotes from Suppliers – from simple individual Articles to complex tenders. You can find RFQs in the sidebar under Tools → RFQs.

An RFQ goes through the following phases:

  1. Create — in the steps General, Articles, Details and Suppliers

  2. Publish — the invited Suppliers receive an email with a personal link

  3. Manage — on the "Overview" tab, you track responses, invite more Suppliers or change the deadline

  4. Evaluate — on the "Comparison" tab, you compare the quotes and renegotiate if needed

  5. Award and close — on the "Award" tab, you document your decision and log savings

The RFQ overview

The overview page shows all RFQs, split into the "All" and "My" tabs. You can filter by status, Responsible, due date, Articles, Suppliers, team, creation date and internal fields, among others. The "Unread messages" column shows where there are new chat messages from Suppliers.

💡 You can also see your open RFQs on the dashboard: in the "My work" widget, the "RFQs" tab shows your drafts and published RFQs for which you are the main contact.

Where can I start an RFQ?
