Create and import Suppliers

Learn how to create Suppliers individually or import them via Excel or CSV file.

Permission: "create Suppliers" (by default also Standard User). Without it, the "+ Add new" button is not visible.

Create a single Supplier

Sidebar → "Suppliers" → "+ Add new".

Upload several Suppliers at once

  1. Sidebar → "Suppliers" → arrow next to "+ Add new" → "Bulk import Suppliers".

  2. Upload the completed Excel/CSV file. Recommended: "Download template" – it contains the standard fields as well as your own Supplier attributes of the types text, yes/no, multi-select, number and user (other types such as date or attachment cannot be imported).

  3. If the file has several sheets: select the relevant sheet.

  4. Click "Next" – where possible, columns are mapped automatically by column name (e.g. "Country" → "Country"); map the remaining columns manually.

  5. Click "Confirm" to save the data. Faulty rows, if any, are shown in a further window.

  6. Finish the import with "Complete import".

⚠️ Important: The supplier number must be present and unique in every file, as it is used to match existing Suppliers. For new Suppliers, the name is also mandatory. Columns/values that cannot be mapped are not imported.

Duplicate warning when creating

If a newly created Supplier matches an existing one (e.g. by company name, address, supplier number, VAT number, tax number or IBAN), Tacto shows the message "This looks like a Supplier you already have". You have three options:

  • Use this supplier: No new Supplier is created.

  • Create as duplicate and link Supplier: The new Supplier is created and directly linked to the existing one as a duplicate (see "Supplier structures").

  • Or create anyway as a separate company.
