Overview
This article explains when you must take preventive measures under the LkSG and how to record them as Tasks in the Tacto App.
Relevant if your risk analysis has identified a risk at a supplier.
Preventive measures range from contractual assurances by suppliers to training.
Definition
Preventive measures help you prevent human rights and environmental risks.
If you identify a risk in the risk analysis, you must take appropriate preventive measures without delay (Section 6 LkSG).
Preventive measures towards direct suppliers
Section 6 (4) LkSG lists measures that the legislator considers appropriate preventive measures towards direct suppliers. The list is not exhaustive:
You take human rights and environmental expectations into account when selecting a direct supplier.
The direct supplier contractually assures compliance with the human rights and environmental expectations required by your management and to address them appropriately along the supply chain.
You carry out training and further education to enforce the contractual assurances.
You agree appropriate contractual control mechanisms and carry out risk-based checks to verify compliance with the human rights strategy at the direct supplier.
Note: Which preventive measures are most effective always depends on the individual case.
Selecting measures
When selecting measures, rely primarily on the findings from the risk analysis. Address the risks in order of the severity of their impact.
How it works
1. Appoint a person responsible
Determine who in your company manages the measures.
2. Create measures as Tasks
Open the supplier's profile and go to the Tasks tab.
Click Create Task.
Select a Task template or create your own measure.
Set the Assignee and Due date and save with Create Task.
Note: Tacto provides Task templates for typical measures. You can create your own templates under Settings → Task templates to record measures consistently.
