Fend off price increases with the Price Defense Agent

Learn how the Price Defense Agent analyzes price increases from your Suppliers and creates a draft reply for you.

The Price Defense Agent helps you respond to price increases quickly and based on data. It is available to all customers of the Negotiation Cockpit.

How it works

Forward incoming price increase notices from your Suppliers to [email protected].

  1. Analysis: The AI analyzes the letter and the arguments it contains.

  2. Comparison: It accesses the Supplier data in Tacto and creates a draft reply.

  3. Result: The draft lands directly in your inbox – ready to send or adjust.

Requirements for a successful reply

  • Registered sender address: Forward from the email address you are registered with in Tacto.

  • Permissions: You need read access to Suppliers and Analytics.

  • Supplier exists in Tacto: Suppliers that are not maintained in Tacto (e.g. maverick spend) cannot be processed. If a Supplier name exists more than once, state the Supplier number in the email text.

  • Transaction data: For strong counterarguments, the AI uses your order history with the Supplier – price and volume development over recent years as well as key figures for the last 12 months.

  • Supported formats: The agent reads the email text as well as PDF and image attachments (JPG, PNG). Other formats are not analyzed – the agent points this out in its reply. Very large attachments cannot be processed.

What the agent does (and doesn't do)

  • Draft reply: The agent creates a data-driven draft. If something is unclear (e.g. the Supplier), it asks – simply reply in the same email thread.

  • Final human check: Review the draft before sending.

  • No automatic sending: The agent sends the reply to you, not to the Supplier.

  • Focus on price increases: The agent is designed for price increases.

Why didn't I receive a reply?

  1. Sender address: Did you forward from the email address registered in Tacto? Emails from unknown addresses are not answered.

  2. Permissions: If you lack read access to Suppliers or Analytics, you receive a notification email instead.

  3. Attachment: Was the price increase contained in the email text or as a PDF or image?
