Abstract risk analysis in the Tacto App

How to carry out the abstract risk analysis for a supplier in the Tacto App.

Overview

This article explains how to carry out the abstract risk analysis for a supplier in the Tacto App.

For an overview of the entire process, see Summary of the risk analysis.

Note: Evaluation templates, score formulas, score thresholds and table views are configured per customer. The names, thresholds and factors mentioned here describe Tacto's standard configuration – your template may differ.

Prerequisites

The LkSG/ESG module is set up for your organisation and you have permission to create Evaluations.

Summary

  • Identify risk suppliers: The table view shows suppliers with a score below 80 (medium or high risk) whose processing is still pending. Low-risk suppliers are hidden there.

  • Start the Evaluation: You create an Evaluation for the supplier using the template for the abstract risk analysis.

  • Assess risk and appropriateness: The score is based on country and industry risk and on your purchasing volume relative to the supplier's turnover. A lower share reduces the risk.

  • Justified deviation: You can manually adjust the risk assessment with a justification and thus skip the concrete analysis.

  • Result: Prioritised suppliers for the concrete risk analysis.

How it works

1. Find suppliers in the table view

In the Suppliers module, open the table view for the abstract risk analysis (in the standard configuration "Abstract risk analysis"). It shows suppliers with the following properties:

  • Pre-imported abstract score: < 80

  • Risk status: high or medium risk

  • Progress: processing pending

Low-risk suppliers are hidden in this view and can only be found in the overview. With the abstract risk analysis, you can justify for a supplier that no concrete risk analysis is required.

2. Create an Evaluation

  1. Right-click the supplier's name or open the action menu in the row.

  2. Select Create new Evaluation.

  3. Under Select Evaluation template, choose the template for the abstract risk analysis.

  4. Click Create Evaluation.

3. Section 1: Score based on country and industry risk

The first section shows the score resulting from the supplier's country and industry risk.

4. Section 2: Appropriateness

Here, an appropriateness assessment influences the abstract score. It assesses your company's influence: your purchasing volume relative to the supplier's total turnover.

  • The lower your share of the supplier's turnover, the higher the score and the lower the risk.

  • In the standard configuration, appropriateness is a factor between 0.75 and 1.25.

  • If your share is above 12.5%, the factor 0.75 is applied (deterioration).

  • For lower shares, the factor is determined on a continuous scale between 0.75 and 1.25. The bonus of 1.25 is only granted for very low shares.

Note: Share of the supplier's total turnover (in %) = purchasing volume with this supplier in the previous financial year (in €) / supplier's annual turnover in the previous financial year (in €, estimated if not known)

5. Section 3: Justified deviation

If, based on your experience, the abstract risk analysis does not reflect reality, adjust the risk assessment manually. Provide a short justification. This lets you skip the concrete analysis, for example if you know that there are no risks or no relevance.

6. Conclude the Evaluation

Click Conclude Evaluation and confirm in the dialog. Use Save only to save your progress without concluding the Evaluation.

Next steps

After the abstract risk analysis, your suppliers are prioritised. For suppliers that still show an elevated risk, carry out the concrete risk analysis next.
