Overview
With Drawing Analysis, you upload a technical drawing as a PDF together with the matching STEP file. Tacto Intelligence evaluates both files and provides the most important Article and drawing features, a 3D view of the part, similar Articles from your own inventory and a target price depending on the lot size – including a cost breakdown.
What this means in practice:
Automatic evaluation of drawing and geometry
3D view of the part directly in Tacto
Similar Articles from your own inventory
Target price per lot size with price tiers and cost breakdown (should-costing)
Typical use cases:
Determine a target price for a Drawing Part before tendering
Check Supplier quotes against a cost estimate
Find similar parts in your own inventory for bundling
How it works
Prerequisites
Drawing Analysis must be enabled for your organization by Tacto. It is currently in the Alpha phase.
You need the permission "use Drawing Analysis".
You need the drawing as a PDF and the matching STEP model.
Start an analysis
In the navigation, open Drawing Analysis.
Click Start new analysis.
In the Drawing and 3D model files field, upload a PDF drawing and the corresponding STEP/STP file (max. 10 MB per file).
Click Start analysis.

Target price: You see the price tiers across quantities as well as the cost breakdown. With permission to edit Articles, you can enter a different Lot size and click Update price.
The Current analysis and the Past analyses of your organization are listed on the Drawing Analysis page and can be reopened at any time.
Known limitations
Both files are required: exactly one PDF drawing and exactly one STEP model. One file alone is not sufficient.
One part is evaluated per analysis; no bulk upload.
A target price cannot be calculated for every part, e.g. for cast parts, missing weight or a forecast that is too uncertain. In this case, Tacto displays a notice.
FAQ
Q: Can I upload several parts at once?
A: No. One part is evaluated per analysis.
Q: Is the PDF drawing alone sufficient?
A: No. The analysis requires the PDF drawing and the matching STEP model.
