Overview
In the BAFA portal (ELAN-K2), you add further users and assign roles to them. This is relevant for user administrators of an existing BAFA access.

Note: Since 7 November 2025, LkSG reports can no longer be submitted via BAFA's access. Details in the article The BAFA report: current status of the reporting obligation.
How to manage users
1. Add users
User management is located in the Mandanten und Benutzer (clients and users) section. As a user administrator, you can add and delete users, change passwords and assign roles there. You also manage your own login details there.
Click Benutzer (users) in the left menu and then Neu (new).
Enter the new user's details in the form and save.
After saving, the system marks the new user in red and indicates that roles still need to be assigned.
2. Assign roles
Click Rolle ändern (change role) to assign permissions to the user.
The following roles are available:
Role | Function |
Login | Technically required role for logging in. It is not relevant for further processing. |
LkSG-Melder (LkSG reporter) | Required to access the report form. |
LkSG-Schreibend (LkSG editor) | Required to edit the report. |
Benutzer Administration (user administration) | Allows managing the roles of other users. |
Mandant Administration (client administration) | Required to edit client information (e.g. the company's address). This role can only be transferred to another user with the help of BAFA. |
Note: To edit a report, a user needs at least the Login and LkSG-Melder roles.
